What is a... Life With Passion ?
... and how do you know if you're living such a life?
- I've
listed some questions that may or may not help you decide whether you have a passion
for life or you've found your life passion.
- I'm sure you might have some better ideas yourself about living your passion.
- If so, please share - this is the Self Help Collective, remember, where visitors are encouraged to help themselves and help others too...
Life With Passion
What I Say...
Hmm, I'm not sure what I say about living with passion. It seems an obvious thing to want to do, for sure, but I'm not sure that many of us actively do this.
- Could it simply
be a passion for life?
- Or could it be the successful pursuit of your life
passion?
- Or how about a life where you, most of the time at least, live your passion?
Hmm, as I said, I'm not that sure. I think I need to read
an inspirational quote to get the ol' juices flowing...
"What
is passion? It is surely the becoming of a person.
Are we not, for most
of our lives, marking time? Most of
our being is at rest, unlived. In passion,
the body and the
spirit seek expression outside of self. Passion is all that
is
other from self. Sex is only interesting when it releases passion.
The
more extreme and the more expressed that passion is, the
more unbearable does
life seem without it. It reminds us that if
passion dies or is denied, we
are partly dead and that soon,
come what may, we will be wholly so."
-- John Boorman
...Ah, yes, that's much better! Things are tuned in, now, and no it wasn't the mention of the 'S-word' that helped!
Let's
start all over again, shall we! And let's begin with this simple question: what
is a life with passion?
Is it, for example, your life and how you live it? Is it mine? Well, I'm going to list a few more questions to get both you and me thinking, and hopefully we'll have a much better idea of what such a life is all about.
My Smart Passion Questions!
- Is
a life with passion a life where you ONLY do things that you like and enjoy?
Or is it simply a life spent doing things, whatever they may be (unexpected or planned), with enthusiasm, enjoyment and, dare I say it, passion? - Is
a passionate life always a happy life?
Or is it a life filled with love and joy, as well as pain and sorrow - with the understanding that love and joy shall be fully indulged and the acceptance that joy and pain will sooner or later pass? - When you live your passion does it mean you have
to be like BBC
nature presenter David Attenborough (or Steve Irwin RIP) who's spent so
much of his life sharing his joy of planet earth and all the birds, animals, insects
and plants thereon?
Or can you bumble from dead-end job to dead-end job, but do so with infectious enthusiasm for life thus lighting up the lives of all those you come into contact with? - Does living a life with
passion mean it's a life filled with the many smiling faces of friends and family?
Or can we be lonely, but still dedicated completely to fulfilling our life-purpose even if that purpose is simply to enjoy a solitary life? - Do
we have to know what a life with passion looks like, what it tastes and smells
like?
Or can we be non the wiser, other than aware that when we awaken each day we know we are grateful AND ready to go?
- Should we take a passion test, first? (The passion test I'm on about is free, by the way, and you can find it at ThePassionTest.com!)
Yes, these are all great questions about life with passion, and perhaps there are no correct answers.
But at least I hope you've read them and it has stimulated some thoughts about your own life and about how you're living it.
After all, what is the point of all self-help, with its self-improvement and anger management and building self-esteem, if, at the end of it all, we do not have a life of passion?
Now that is smart passion!
